About Me

Let me Introduce Myself

My name is Amy and I am Romany Gypsy on my Mother’s side. Our family traveled in tents all over America, setting up camps (where they were welcome) and offering fortune telling and horse trading. My Great Grandparents settled in Lynchburg, VA, which is where I grew up. There, my Grandmother was a local fortune teller who went by the name “Madam Judy,” although her actual name was Thelma.  It was traditional to pick a different name to conduct business, so she chose the name of a beloved dog from her childhood, Judy.  She passed away when I was 23, and she was, and is, a huge force in my life.

As a child, I spent many hours watching my Grandmother read for clients, helping entertain the guests who were waiting to see her and learning all I could from her.  My Granny simply gave “readings,” and she never really called herself a fortune teller or a psychic. The sign out in front of her big yellow house said “Madam Judy, Personal Consultant.” She considered herself to just be “in touch” with people and able to advise them in the direction they were going or, more often, should not be going.  While Granny did some palm reading, some tarot, and even tea leaves occasionally, basically, she could just read you. She did not rely on the use of specific devices or methods, but on her own feelings and instincts to give advice and predictions to her clients.  This is what I do as well, but I use tarot cards as my tool to open up a dialogue with my clients.

Since I was young, I have been able to get feelings from people and know the barriers that keep them from achieving their goals.  Often I can see the path they should be on, where they actually are, and how to help them back on the right path.

More than 20 years ago, I began to search for my own methods and connections through the family discipline and eventually discovered a tarot deck that I really connected with. With this deck I give quality readings to friends and acquaintances. Through the readings I make a connection with my client and, if the client is open and receptive, we can work collaboratively for a picture of the past that has made them who they are, the moment they are in and the direction they are heading.  I have been lucky to have had my natural abilities nurtured and cultivated, and I look forward to providing readings to new friends and carrying on a tradition that has been in my family for many generations.

In the past year I have faced many personal battles that have only enhanced my focus and is currently leading me to develop my own intuitive consulting and creative therapy programs.  I feel strongly that I am here to help others refocus, acknowledge and develop themselves.

What I am not…

First, I am not a legally trained therapist or a priest or any other legally certified consultant.  I am trained purely in my family tradition, through my own life experience and through my study of many other great teachers.

Second, I generally do not choose to dress in silly costumes or try to act like I am in some sort of trance. I am just myself. If you need the ”Gypsy” atmosphere for an event, we can talk about it, and make it part of your party package.

Third, I am not going to tell you the lottery numbers, if I knew them I would go get a ticket myself.  I am not some crackpot who will make up wild stories about your future, because my Grandmother always told me, “Be careful what you tell people, because they may make it come true.”  What I will provide you is guided by my genuine feeling, honest intuition and, of course, the cards
