9 of Wands: Community & Strength Gathering. Have you figured out your role in this play yet? Yesterday was the 3 of Cups which is about friendship and here we have the result of making friends, community building. We need people and people need us…now get involved. We make tribes, without our tribe coming together, how many battles could we win? This card tells us to pause, consider our role in the community we are in and prepare. Here we are also warned to gather strength to prepare ourselves for difficult situations. Which are much easier to face in war paint, with our tribe…
Yesterday when I was considering movies that could represent the 3 of Cups, aka Friendship, I thought about The Breakfast Club. I am so glad I didn’t pick that one for that card, cause it is so much better for the 9 of Wands. So you are stuck in Saturday detention with a bunch of other students that screwed up as bad as you did, but they are all from different social groups. You gradually open up to one another, build community in strange and amusing ways. Throughout the day you learn about each other and therefore yourself. All of this happens during this pause that was inflicted on you. You had to take time out of your normal life and settle into this day of detention. Here you come together to rebel against the principal. Perfect example of 9 of Wands…and one of my all time favorite movies. I think I might need to go watch it.
